Alan has over 40 years of experience in the power industry, over 25 of which have been in Africa. Alan spent 8 years as Azura Power CEO; during that time, he successfully led the company through its initial phase of growth, where it has established itself as one of the leading IPPs in Africa, with over 750MW of operating capacity and more than 1.5GW of projects under development. Alan has particular expertise in power plant design and construction, project development, and electricity distribution.

Alan has a first-class honours degree in Mechanical engineering, is a chartered engineer and is a member of the Institute of Energy. Alan also holds a masters in international accounting and finance from the LSE.

James Beatty is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Enpower Trading, with two decades of experience across international energy and financial markets. He leads the company's strategy and growth, connecting independent power producers with commercial and industrial customers across Southern Africa.

James has led Enpower's development from an early-stage business into an established private electricity trader, building its team, securing capital and bringing major power purchase agreements to financial close. Under his leadership, Enpower became the first privately owned South African company approved as a Southern African Power Pool market participant. He also led the transaction that brought Azura Power in as majority shareholder in September 2026, strengthening Enpower's capacity to grow in South Africa and expand its regional trading activities.

Before Enpower, James spent more than a decade at Trafigura and Glencore in energy trading, origination and business development. His experience spans power, oil, LNG and LPG, combining international trading expertise with a strong understanding of African energy markets.

Dave is CEO of Azura Power and has over 20 years of energy and infrastructure experience, with over 15 years focused on Africa.

Prior to joining Azura, Dave worked in corporate finance at Lazard & Co. Ltd, and as a financial advisor at Fieldstone, where he advised on multiple landmark African power transactions. This included the sponsors on the $900m project financing of the 461MW Azura-Edo IPP in Nigeria, Actis on its IPO of Umeme, Uganda’s national electricity distribution company and the 4Power Consortium on the acquisition of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc, as part of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s privatisation programme. He has also advised a number of other IPP developers in Nigeria, Ghana and Sierra Leone.

Dave is a CFA Charterholder and received a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey Business School at the University of the Western Ontario, in London, Canada.

Nikolai Germann of Enterprise Power Development is an experienced energy trader with over 30 years of work experience at senior management level in the Sub-Saharan African energy sector. He successfully managed the Africa oil&gas trading desk of the Addax&Oryx Group, and conceived, negotiated, structured, managed and executed pioneering energy infrastructure projects in sub-Saharan Africa (refinery, power plant, transmission, terminals, ports and pipelines).

Nikolai is a co-founder and director of Enpower Trading in South Africa, and co-founder, director and board member of Enterprise Power DRC Sàrl (EPDRC), a licensed power trader and Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) market participant. Nikolai holds a law degree of the University of Geneva and an MBA from IMD.

Jennifer is General Counsel at Azura Power with broad experience in the power and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining Azura, she was a Partner at Trinity International LLP, a niche law firm that specialises in advising on corporate and project finance transactions in emerging markets.

Jennifer advised developers and financial institutions on a variety of complex projects, with a particular focus on renewable and thermal energy projects across sub-Saharan Africa. This included advising sponsors and developers on the $900m project financing of the 461MW Edo IPP in Nigeria, two geothermal IPPs in Ethiopia, a hydro-electric project in Malawi, a number of IPP projects in Mozambique and a solar IPP in Burundi.

Prior to joining Trinity, Jennifer trained with and was a Managing Associate at Linklaters LLP where she spent time in their London, Singapore and Dubai offices. She is a Solicitor in England and Wales.

Tanya is Group Chief Financial Officer at Azura Power. She has over 25 years of corporate finance experience with the past decade focused on the power sector in Africa. She joined Azura in 2019 from Melec Powergen Inc., an IPP platform with 3 thermal plants under operation, with a combined capacity of 270 MW and 132 MW under construction, which was acquired by Azura.

During her tenure, Tanya was responsible for all financial functions including coordinating project financing requirements, managing key relationships with off takers, project audit partners, lenders’ project portfolio managers, and statutory and legal advisors, and administering the platform IT landscape.

She is fluent in English, Arabic and French, holds a Masters in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) holder certified by the State of New Hampshire, USA.
